January 13 20152015-01-13January 13 20152015-01-13A photograph of a ceremonial procession at night against a dark background. On the left, a gold trident stands beside a tall gold finial topped with red and yellow tassels. In the centre, a smiling man in an ornate gold crown and a rust-coloured shawl holds a gold mace with a sunburst head and a silver blade. Red beaded necklaces hang at his neck, and a wooden rudraksha-style bracelet is on his wrist. Behind him, a man in white stands at the right edge, while another man with a pale forehead mark stands in the left background. Swamiji (probable) appears through his crown, mace, shawl and beaded adornments, which suggest a ritual role rather than a plain devotee.2015-01-13January 13 20152015-01-13January 13 20152015-01-13A bare-chested man with a black beard and a white tripundra mark on his forehead sits on an ornate gold throne against a dark teal backdrop. He wears a tall gilded crown with red stones and holds a gold trident-like staff topped with a lion-headed disc. He is adorned with layered orange and gold beaded necklaces, a large gold pendant, gold armlets and beaded bracelets, and a tiger-striped waist cloth with a deep red dhoti. Two gold lion sculptures flank the throne. The figure appears to be a Swamiji (probable) presented in a regal, deity-like pose, with distinctive crown, rudraksha and gold adornment cues.
