March 07 20162016-03-07December 30 20092009-12-30Outdoor procession on a sandy path lined with palms, green shrubs and trees strung with red and orange bunting. A long-haired man in saffron-orange robes and a rudraksha mala walks at the front, the most prominent figure, appearing to lead the procession; the appearance cues of long hair, saffron clothing and rudraksha beads are consistent with Swamiji (probable). Behind him, several saffron-clad monks and a few men in white dhotis carry or walk beneath colourful striped umbrellas and a decorated parasol. A man in a checked shirt and a white-clad attendant holding a small object and a camera operator are among those following. Sandals lie on the path at lower left.2007-08-09December 30 20092009-12-30A procession walks along a dirt road lined with palm and banana trees. In the centre, a man in orange robes wears a white and red flower garland and a rudraksha mala, walking barefoot. Behind him, saffron-robed sannyasis carry staffs and a trident-topped rod, while devotees in white dhotis and yellow shawls walk alongside. Two colourful umbrellas with tassels are carried overhead, and a man in white with a red shawl holds a long staff. Nearby, a man in a grey-white turban and red shawl carries a trident. The scene is an outdoor ritual procession.2010-01-02 +1 copiesA procession on a dirt road lined with palm trees and a red brick wall. In the foreground a man with long dark hair wears an orange cloth wrapped around his waist and a leopard-print shawl over his shoulders, carrying a tall pole with a red, blue and yellow fringed canopy. Beside him a man in orange robes and a bald head walks with an orange flag. Behind them, devotees in white dhotis and saris and a boy in an orange shirt follow. In the background a decorated palanquin or ratha carries a deity murti under a multicoloured canopy, with orange flags and a white umbrella-like parasol. Ornaments and a conch-shaped object appear near the canopy. The overcast sky and wet earth suggest a village temple procession.2010-11-11A dirt-road procession moves between palm trees at dusk, led by a man in an orange dhoti and orange shawl carrying a multicoloured ceremonial parasol on a pole. A framed portrait of a bearded, saffron-robed figure is carried on a decorated palanquin-style frame behind them. Around the procession, devotees in white dhotis and white sarees with gold borders walk alongside, many wearing rudraksha-style beaded necklaces. A bearded man in orange robes walks at the right, and a small blue-and-white banner flutters at upper left. Several people line the road, and a concrete wall and roadside structures are visible behind.2009-01-02A procession walks along a dirt path at an outdoor temple compound lined with palm trees, under a misty grey sky. At the centre, a man with long dark hair and a headband wears a saffron-orange garment and a large beaded ceremonial necklace, walking barefoot with hands joined in namaskar. Above him, a multicoloured fringed umbrella is carried on a pole, with ornate orange-and-gold decorative lanterns beside it. Around him, devotees in orange and white ritual clothes, including women in white and orange saris, walk with hands folded. A woman in white in the right foreground looks ahead, and a stone sculpture of a serpent stands near the path.2010-12-27August 27 20162016-08-27A procession moves along a paved courtyard path in front of a white car and green trees. At the centre a bearded man with long dark hair, wearing a maroon-brown dhoti and shawl, a large gold pendant and layered red-and-white flower garlands, walks barefoot under a yellow fringed parasol. Around him, saffron-orange robed devotees carry rudraksha malas, and women in saffron and maroon saris hold decorated umbrellas in purple, red and gold. A man on the left carries a saffron-orange ceremonial banner, and a figure in white dhoti walks at the back. Onlookers stand along the path. Appearance-based cues on the central figure are long hair, gold ornaments and garlands, but identity is uncertain.2016-08-27A procession on a dirt path lined with palm trees and crowds of white-clad devotees. Several saffron-robed sannyasis walk with tall silver-tipped staffs and ceremonial tridents, and a central figure with long dark hair wears a wreath of multicoloured flowers, an orange robe and a rudraksha mala, carrying a ceremonial staff. Women in white saris with yellow shawls walk nearby. Two large colourful umbrellas with striped fringes shade the group, and a tall golden flagpole rises in the background. The central figure's long hair, flower garland and orange robe are visible cues; this is a possible a person appearance in the procession. Devotees follow barefoot.2009-12-23December 30 20092009-12-30
