A dusty dirt road in a developing area with scattered trees, unfinished concrete walls and thatched huts with blue tarpaulin roofs. A long line of men in white shirts and white dhotis walks in the same direction, with more people visible at the far left near a parked vehicle. A man in the foreground stands facing the procession with hands clasped, while others in the column wear a mix of white clothing and some darker jackets. Two young men walk away from the camera along the mud path; the one in the foreground wears a red and cream top and jeans, and the one beside him wears a blue checked shirt and dark shorts. Bundled bedding, folded cloth and scattered belongings lie on the sand beside the tents. Two men walk along the central path in the middle distance, one in a white shirt and brown trousers, another in a dark shirt, while a few other people sit or stand near the left-side shelters. The hazy sky and flat sandy ground suggest a large open encampment, with a small red-and-white sign visible far down the lane.2013-02-05A wide dusty concrete road at the Kumbh Mela in Uttar Pradesh, lined with corrugated metal fencing and bamboo poles. Many pilgrims walk toward the distance, including sadhus in saffron and orange robes, people in white dhoti and shawl, a woman in pink and purple saris, and a bearded man in white with a red turban at the right edge. Yellow and red hoardings in Hindi stand on the left, with tall lamp posts and power lines overhead under a hazy sky. A blue truck is parked on the right.2013-02-15May 10th 20162016-05-10May 10th 20162016-05-10Outdoor photo of a large group of devotees walking along a brick-paved path lined with potted plants on the left and a construction trench on the right.
