September 30 20062006-09-30A photograph of a seated man in a ceremonial tent at a temple ritual site. He sits cross-legged on a woven mat, wearing an orange-saffron shawl over his body and a long saffron cloth, with a red bindi on his forehead and a long gold bead necklace. His long dark hair falls to his shoulders and he rests one hand on his knee. Orange marigold petals lie on the mat in front. Behind him is a colourful patterned cloth canopy with wooden poles. To the left, a young man in white clothes and an orange shawl sits beside him. Swamiji (probable): the seated figure has long swept-back hair, saffron clothing and a gold necklace, consistent with the page's account of the ceremony. Visible people are seated and in the background.2006-09-29A photograph of a long-haired figure seated cross-legged on a mat in a rustic tent-like shelter with wooden poles and a colourful geometric cloth backdrop. The seated person wears an orange-saffron robe, a long gold-beaded necklace, and a bracelet, with hands open in front of the chest. Brass plates on the mat hold grains, flowers and shredded offerings, and a brass bowl sits nearby. Brass vessels with flowers stand on a white-draped table at left. A drummer in a white garment plays a barrel drum at right. Probable Swamiji cues: long swept-back hair, saffron robe and ornate gold necklace, with a ritual homa-type offering setting.2006-09-30September 30 20062006-09-30July 18 20062006-07-18April 19 20082008-04-19December 26 20082008-12-26Outdoor ceremony under a canopy strung with colourful tassels in red, yellow, green and white. A man with long swept-back dark hair, wearing an orange shawl, rudraksha-style beaded necklaces and a gold chain, sits on a white-cushioned seat, with a white cloth-draped tray before him. Nearby a man in an orange robe sits behind him, and a man in white clothing stands with one arm raised holding a striped pole. In the foreground a woman in orange with hair in a bun sits with hands held together, and a person with hands folded in añjali is at left. The swamiji candidate matches long hair, saffron clothing and ornate necklaces, so this is an appearance-based probable identification.2008-04-19Outdoor ceremony at a Tiruvannamalai ashram inauguration. A long-haired man in orange robes and a gold ceremonial necklace sits on a white-draped seat, smiling, with a stack of small booklets beside him. A devotee in orange kneels at his feet with a shaved head and a ponytail visible from behind. Several men in white shirts stand behind, a camera on a tripod is in the foreground, and bamboo poles wrapped in green and white stripes frame the left edge. Probable Swamiji: the long hair, orange clothing and gold necklace cues match the page, so he is treated as a candidate seated in person.2008-04-19A seated man in saffron-orange robes sits cross-legged under a rustic pavilion with bamboo poles and colourful patterned cloth walls in red, green, yellow and blue. He has long, dark, swept-back hair and wears a heavy gold bead necklace and a gold bangle on his wrist, with his hands resting on his knee. Another person in white with an orange-edged garment sits at the left edge, and devotees are partly visible at the lower right. The scene suggests a ritual setting at an outdoor ceremony. Appearance-based label: Swamiji (probable), with long hair, saffron robes and gold necklace as cues.2006-09-29December 28 20062006-12-28December 28 20082008-12-28 +1 copies
