A seated devotee in a red turban, red garment and rudraksha mala sits before a copper deity murti and a copper shivalinga-style vessel, with hands raised in greeting. Behind them, a large gilded-framed portrait shows a figure in saffron robes with a yellow flower garland, and a smaller framed portrait hangs on the wall. Red cloth covers the seat and floor. Plates of sweets, fruit and offerings sit on a red cloth in front, lit by an oil lamp, with flowers scattered among them.

A photograph of a home shrine room with yellow walls and a red patterned rug, arranged for puja. Central is a large cutout portrait of a smiling man in a red-orange turban, rudraksha mala and orange garment, seated cross-legged on a gold throne draped in gold cloth, with a garland of white and multicolored flowers. Beside it stand two decorated deity murtis: a female figure in a pink sari and a blue-faced murti playing a flute in pink garments, both garlanded. Framed portraits hang on the walls. In the foreground are brass and silver puja trays with lamps, a kalasha-like brass bowl of flower petals, a kumkum dish, a bell and an open book on a side table. No people are physically present.

A framed black-and-white portrait labelled as Swamiji's photograph rests on a brown upholstered armchair with carved wooden frame. The framed image shows a bearded seated figure with a rudraksha mala draped over the frame. In front, on the floor, a gold brocade cloth holds a brass puja thali with a lit oil lamp, a small kalasha-style red and gold container, flowers and a green cloth bundle, plus steel bowls of rice, dal and vegetables, a mango, and an orange bowl of white flowers and leaves. A tiger-print cushion beside a white-and-pink cloth displays a strand of white pearl or bead garland. Indoors with cream walls, a wall heater vent, and dark tiles. No people visible.

A decorated altar arrangement at Sripuram in Hyderabad, centred on a large standing cutout photograph of a bearded man in a red-maroon robe and a tall red turban, with a garland of yellow and white flowers and jewelled necklaces, hands raised in a blessing gesture. The cutout is set in a plush beige armchair with dark carved wooden arms, draped in a tiger-stripe cloth. Red velvet covers the table in front, holding bowls of fruit, fried snacks, a flower arrangement, a pyramid of yellow sweet rice and a lit brass oil lamp. Two decorative red and gold fan-shaped banners with a bird emblem flank the altar. No physical people are visible.

A photograph of an indoor altar set against a pale yellow wall. A large framed portrait of a smiling man in saffron-orange robes and a white flower garland, seated with one hand raised in blessing before a tree trunk, is decorated with yellow and red marigold garlands. The portrait is labelled "Paramahamsa Nithyananda" on its lower edge. Below it, a white-draped table holds a brass deity murti in blue with a garland, a red-and-silver figure, and brass oil lamps stand on each side. In front, a brick fire pit with a wooden ladle and an ornate brass kalasha pot with a coconut indicate a homa setup. Hundreds of small brass bowls filled with grains, spices and herbs cover a white cloth on the floor for an offering. No people are visible.

Mahashivaratri 2021

A small room set up as an altar. A large framed portrait on a gold background shows a smiling man with a bright orange turban, a red tilak on his forehead, orange robes and a leopard-print shawl draped over his shoulders, with a red and white flower garland and a beaded necklace. He is seated cross-legged, and the portrait is labelled as Swamiji (probable) by appearance cues: orange turban, orange robes and ornate garlands. Pink and red velvet cushions and a pink draped cloth sit below it, with a flower-decorated tray in front. Tulips and yellow roses stand in vases, and smaller framed images flank the altar. In front, trays hold rows of paper cups of rice and sweets, plus fruit including apples, oranges, pears and bananas, as an annadan offering. No physical people are visible.

A photograph of a ritual setup in front of a large printed depiction of a seated figure on a cushioned armchair. The figure is shown in a maroon turban and maroon robe, with a white and yellow flower garland, a long white necklace and a rudraksha-style red pendant, the bluish skin tone of a painted or printed image. Yellow marigold garlands hang across the top and two decorated red and gold ceremonial umbrellas with a bird emblem stand at either side. Brass lamps flank the chair, and a framed certificate sits on a small brass stand. On a green cloth in front are small bowls of grains and powders, bananas, coconuts, a red-wrapped offering, plates of yellow flowers and loose marigolds. No living people are visible.
