The golden pillar has a tiered base with lotus-petal mouldings and a raised shrine-like niche carved with a seated deity figure. Banana leaves hang across the left side of the frame. Behind it, a yellow banner with red Tamil and English lettering reads Sri Annamalaiyar temple. Stone pillars and dim interior passages recede into the background, and a few distant figures are visible at the bottom edge.2006-09-24
