Night photograph of a temple tank at Jayanti Brahmotsavam 2009. Rows of white stepped seating line the tank, outlined with strings of multicoloured lights and bright lamps reflecting on the dark water. A crowd of many seated devotees in white and light clothing fills the bank in the foreground, with a yellow umbrella raised above a standing figure. On the water, a small illuminated boat carries several figures in saffron and red garments near a lit deity murti or palanquin, surrounded by floating lamps and flowers. The scene is a night ritual procession on the temple tank.
