Night photograph of an outdoor ceremony on wide red-brick steps beside a tree, with a bright floodlight at upper right and red flags on white metal stanchions. A man in an orange-and-saffron dhoti stands on the steps pouring water over a dark stone deity murti on a grey plinth, while a bare-chested priest in white dhoti bends over brass vessels nearby. Dense crowds of seated devotees in white and colourful clothing fill the steps and terraces, and a green hose runs up the stairs. Strings of small lights and a loudspeaker are visible above.
