A gilded wooden palanquin, a silver-toned pallakku, is carried in procession past a Tamil-lettered sign. Its seat is draped with an orange cloth bordered in green and a white cloth, and it is strung with white and pink garlands and red flowers. A red ceremonial flag hangs at the left and a dark velvet cushion is visible. Rope handles lash the poles, and several men's hands grip the poles and rope from below, including one in a white shirt and another with a red thread on the wrist. No a person candidate is visible; the seated figure is not shown.
