A photograph of a kattumurthy, a bamboo-framed figure wrapped in red cloth with a gilded head and crown and gilded hands, being bound with rope to a bamboo frame. Two hands, one wearing a ring and bangle, tie and adjust the cords. Behind the frame, a person in white clothing and an orange cloth edge are partly visible, and a wall with hanging garlands sits in the background. Two hands are visible; the seated or standing person in white is only partly in view.

A man in a striped blue-and-grey shirt with a dark pendant necklace holds the frame on the left, while a person in white clothes on the right presses a hand onto the red cloth. Brass or gold-toned ritual objects are tied in: a small conical finial and a figure with a curved beak-like projection. A bundle of orange and gold striped cloth lies at the bottom. Bamboo poles are lashed with rough twine, and a person in orange and red garments stands behind.2007-05-09
