A photograph of a riverside mountain setting with a fast, milky-grey river on the left and a multi-storey hillside building with balconies on the right. A woman with curly dark hair, wearing an orange robe and an orange shawl over her shoulders, raises one arm with a clenched fist beside a riverbank wall. Beside her stands another person in an orange shawl, and a few small figures in orange are visible farther back near a stone staircase and a covered walkway leading down to the water. Steep green mountain slopes rise behind the river under a pale sky.

Three people stand on a rocky ledge overlooking the water: two in saffron-orange shawls and hooded orange garments, one with long braided hair raising a hand and holding a small object, and a man in a light blue shirt smiling at the right. A third figure in a grey sweater stands at the left edge with an orange scarf. A flat stone staircase and terraced walls lead down to the river, with pilgrims and shops visible in the distance.2006-06-01June 01 20062006-06-01June 01 20062006-06-01A figure in an orange saffron shawl over a white knitted sweater stands with palms pressed together in prayer, seen from behind against a rushing white-water river. Beyond the river, a hillside town rises with a multi-tiered temple gopuram topped by a red flag, white-walled buildings, tin-roofed shops and a crowd of pilgrims on stone steps. A younger person in an orange garment at the lower right holds a compact camera. Green mountains frame the scene under bright daylight.2006-06-01A photograph of a fast-flowing, murky grey-green river rushing between large grey boulders in a mountain gorge. On the left bank, stone steps and a retaining wall lead up to a row of multi-storey buildings with pitched roofs and blue tarpaulin awnings, where many people in mixed clothing gather along the railings and steps. On the right, a rock face with sparse green vegetation rises beside the water, and people stand along a stone walkway above. The scene suggests a riverside ghat in hill country, with many visitors but no clearly identifiable ritual activity visible.2006-06-01July 08 20082008-07-08A photograph of a riverside ghat on a fast-flowing mountain river, with a stone staircase leading down to the water. A group of people in orange and white clothing gather on the steps and beside a small open-sided pavilion with a red-and-cream roof. Several figures in orange robes stand and sit near the steps, and one person in white stands on the left staircase. Rounded boulders sit in the rushing water, and a small red-roofed shrine stands on the right bank. Multi-storey concrete buildings with balconies and laundry rise up the wooded hillside behind the river, and a red flag is visible near the shrine.July 03 20082008-07-03
