A photograph of a temple consecration scene in a crowded interior. In the foreground, a person in a maroon-and-gold dhoti and sash, with a long red-and-gold cloth wrapped over the head, raises an arm while smiling. Beside them, a bald man in a maroon-and-gold dhoti and a rudraksha mala gestures with his hand. Behind them, a crowd of men in white shirts and dhotis presses against a metal barricade with strands of white flower garlands. On the right, a large black stone deity murti is draped with white jasmine garlands, red flowers, a gold-and-orange cloth and a white dhoti. A silver tray of red, yellow and pink flowers sits at the lower left, with a flower garland beside it.

Behind him, a crowd of men in white shirts and dhotis, some wearing rudraksha-style brown beaded malas, watches closely. A brass tray of colourful flowers and a small bowl of liquid sit in the foreground, with another offering tray at the lower left. Metal scaffolding and a tin roof frame the scene. The figure in the red turban is a priest, not an identifiable candidate, so no a person identification is made.2014-06-29 +1 copiesA photograph of a temple ritual in progress. A man in a rust-red turban and bare upper body, wearing a white-and-red garland and an orange-and-red waist cloth, stands beside a black stone deity murti draped with a white garment, a gold-bordered cloth and white and pink flower garlands. He reaches toward the murti while smiling. Around him a crowd of men in white shirts and dhotis press close, some with orange shawls, and a cameraman films at right. In the foreground, brass trays hold flower petals, a bowl of mixed flowers, yellow powder, kumkum and vibhuti for puja. The setting is a covered temple space with a corrugated roof and a blue-painted wall.2014-06-29 +1 copiesJune 29 20142014-06-29 +1 copiesJune 19 20142014-06-19 +1 copiesJune 29 20142014-06-29 +1 copiesJune 19 20142014-06-19 +1 copiesJune 19 20142014-06-19 +1 copiesJune 29 20142014-06-29
