January 03 20162016-01-03A man in a dark, voluminous hair style and a red-maroon garment with gold border stands outdoors under trees, holding a silver lamp with a lit flame in one hand and a silver bell in the other while smoke rises from the lamp. He wears a thick gold garland with dark beads, a large gold pendant, a red bindi and bangles, and smiles with eyes lowered. A person at lower left holds a silver plate. The setting is an open outdoor area with dappled sunlight. This appears to be an aarti being performed. Swamiji (probable): long swept-back dark hair, ornate gold necklaces and rudraksha-style beads, and ceremonial saffron-red clothing.2016-01-03January 03 20162016-01-03January 03 20162016-01-03January 03 20162016-01-03January 03 20162016-01-03January 03 20162016-01-03January 03 20162016-01-03A photograph of an outdoor ritual in a rocky, tree-lined setting. A smiling person with a black hair crown wears a red-orange shawl over bare shoulders, a dense yellow flower garland with a gold pendant, rudraksha beads, and gold bangles. In the right hand they hold a lit oil lamp with flame and smoke rising, and in the left a brass bell. Behind is a low stone wall, and at left the edge of a seated person in red holds a plate. Probable Swamiji cues include the hair crown, ornate gold necklace and rudraksha-style beads, so this is the probable Swamiji performing aarti with lamp and bell.2016-01-03January 03 20162016-01-03January 03 20162016-01-03 +2 copiesJanuary 03 20162016-01-03
