Outdoor photo of a copper-clad ritual pillar or dhvaja stambha set on a stone pedestal beneath a tin-roofed canopy with bunting. Two men in saffron-orange robes stand at its base; the man on the left has a shaved head and wraps a saffron cloth, while the man on the right, barefoot and bare-chested with long hair and a saffron shawl, wears a marigold garland and holds an offering at the pillar. A third person in white with a shaved head and a red-bordered cloth is seen at the lower right. Palm trees, a parked SUV and stone sculptures frame the scene under an overcast sky.

Outdoor temple scene under a blue sky with scattered clouds and palm trees. A tall copper dhwajasthamba flagstaff rises from an orange stone pedestal decorated with brass ornaments. Two monastic men in saffron-orange robes stand on the pedestal: one in the foreground with bare shoulders and a wrapped cloth, the other beside the pole with a rudraksha mala, one hand on the flagstaff. Red ropes hang from the pole and orange prayer flags hang along a shed roof at left. Flower petals are scattered on the platform. Devotees in white and saffron stand and sit at the right, and a white SUV is parked at left. This appears to be a dhwajarohanam flag-hoisting ritual.2010-10-18 +1 copiesNovember 06 20102010-11-06Outdoor ritual beside a tall copper-clad pillar with an ornate base, wrapped with orange cord and draped with yellow marigold garlands. Two men in saffron-orange robes stand on the base; one raises his arm to hold a rope tied to the pole while the other, bare-headed in orange cloth, steadies it with both hands. Palm trees and a grey sky surround the site. At the lower right, white-clad devotees with saffron shawls and rudraksha stand watching, one holding what appears to be a pooja tray.
