Night procession photographed from a low angle. A large deity murti of Devi with a golden crown and green-gold headdress, a yellow floral garland and pink-and-green embroidered garments is carried high on shoulders. Beside it a second painted murti with white face and a red-and-gold headdress is also lifted. Men in orange robes stand at left, and a bare-chested man in a white dhoti with gold border supports the figures from the front. A lamp glows in the background and a man in a white dhoti at right watches. Visible people are shown in the photo.

The murti has a golden crown with green jewelled embellishments, a painted face, and a garland of yellow flowers around its neck and shoulders. Beside it stands a figure with an elephant head, wearing a red-orange cloth and a pink-tipped trunk-like ornament. In the foreground, a shirtless man wears an orange-red dhoti and a red cloth on his head, facing the deities. Several men in white dhotis with gold borders and white shirts stand along a path, some with their backs to the camera, and a few people in orange clothing are behind them, with more devotees seen in the shadows.2017-09-30October 11 20162016-10-11September 30 20172017-09-30September 30 20172017-09-30October 11 20162016-10-11October 11 20162016-10-11September 30 20172017-09-30Night procession at a Hindu festival: two large painted deity murtis are carried or borne forward, a pink-faced elephant-headed figure on the left and a golden, ornately crowned goddess on the right, both with jewelled crowns and garlands. Around them a group of men in red and orange dhotis and white dhotis and shirts walk closely, some bare-chested, one at the right edge wearing a white dhoti with a rudraksha-style mala. The scene is lit only by the figures' glow and a distant lamp against darkness.2017-09-30
