Night outdoor festival crowd in front of a decorated palanquin-style vehicle lit by a bright floodlight. The canopy above it is striped in red, yellow and green, and the frame is draped with gold-coloured garlands and tassels. A seated figure in an orange-saffron garment sits on the platform, beneath a bright floodlight. In the foreground, many men in white dhotis and shirts stand shoulder to shoulder, some wearing white or blue head cloths, while an elderly bearded man in an orange-saffron wrap stands near the front left. Behind the crowd are banners and a lit decorative arch on the left, and printed portraits and banners with Tamil text hang on the poles. Another person in an orange shawl is seated at the lower left. The scene reads as a procession gathering in the evening.
