A close photograph of a ritual pouring: a silver vessel with a spout and ornate engraved design tilts a thin golden stream of liquid. Fresh white flowers and green leaves are scattered over the bricks, with banana leaves behind and a small brass lamp with a flame at the left edge. Glowing orange bricks suggest a fire pit, consistent with a homa. Out-of-focus figures in white clothing stand in the background. No identifiable person's face is visible, so no one is identified.

November 10 20112011-11-10A photograph of a homa fire ritual with a close-up of a silver ritual vessel with a curved spout held in a bare-armed hand wearing a gold bangle, pouring a thin stream of liquid (likely ghee) onto a fire pit built of red bricks with a bright orange flame. Green banana leaves lie across the foreground, scattered white flowers rest on the brick edge, and a small silver oil lamp sits at the lower left beside a metal bowl. In the blurred background, many people in white clothing stand and watch, with a tripod visible at right. The fire ritual suggests a homa or yagna.2011-11-10November 10 20112011-11-10November 10 20112011-11-10Close view of a ritual offering being poured in a fire ritual. The priest wears gold bangles and a rudraksha-style wrist bracelet. Only his arms and torso are visible; no one else is clearly in frame.2011-11-10Photo 11715450Photo 11715438
