A stage performance before a large seated audience. Four to five young women in white saris and white blouses perform on a raised red-carpeted stage in front of maroon curtains, one kneeling at the front while the others stand in a close group. Potted palm plants flank the stage and brass pots sit at the edges. The rows of audience members in front, many in white and cream clothing, are seen from behind.

On a red-carpeted stage with a dark maroon curtain, a central performer in a white dhoti-style dress with an orange sash and an ornate gold crown holds a flute to his lips. Around him, four performers in white and cream robes with orange-gold sashes stand in a loose semicircle, some holding green leaves or sprigs. Potted palms flank the stage and petals are scattered on the boards. The scene is a dramatic dance or theatrical enactment rather than a ritual sitting.2007-12-25December 25 20072007-12-25
