Night photograph of a group lighting sparklers on a concrete floor, with smoke drifting through the frame. A seated figure in an orange-saffron cloth and orange head wrap sits on a blue plastic chair at centre, holding a lit sparkler while others around them do the same. Around them stand men in white and cream kurta-style shirts and trousers, a woman in a yellow outfit, women in a white sari and a blue sari, and a young girl in a dark dress with white leggings. The mood is a Deepavali celebration with fireworks. Several slippers lie on the floor near the chair.

A man in an orange-saffron robe and orange turban sits on a blue plastic chair, smiling as sparks and smoke rise from sparklers held near him. Around him, several people in casual and traditional clothes lean in to light fireworks: a man in a blue striped shirt and grey trousers bends forward, a man in a white kurta holds a sparkler, and a woman in a pale yellow salwar kameez watches. On the right, women in blue and blue-patterned saris and onlookers stand in the dark background. A man in a white shirt and light clothing stands behind them.2002-11-04November 04 20022002-11-04Night photo of a Deepavali celebration with smoke and sparks. A seated figure in orange robes and an orange head wrap, with a sparkler-like firework lit beside him, smiles broadly on a blue plastic chair. A man in a white kurta leans in to help, another man in yellow kurta stands behind, and two women in saris, one in purple and one in cream, hold fireworks and laugh. Burnt sparks and a fallen sandal lie on the ground. The figure is dressed as a sannyasi with a saffron robe, a person by appearance, though the face is partly obscured by smoke.2002-11-04Night photograph of a Deepavali celebration at a dimly lit concrete walkway. A seated figure in an orange-saffron cloth draped over the body and an orange head wrap smiles while holding a lit sparkler that throws sparks. Standing around are a bearded man in a white kurta and white trousers holding a camera, a woman in a white sari with a patterned border, another woman in a white sari raising a hand, a child in a blue dress, and several men in shirts and trousers. Beside him a girl in a blue patterned kurta and white churidar wears a white hairband and pearl necklace and holds a sparkler. Behind them a man in a blue checked shirt and light trousers holds a small box and smiles, another man in a white shirt stands nearby, and a child in blue is further back. A blue plastic chair sits at right. The man in saffron matches the appearance cues of Swamiji (probable), with his turban and saffron robes, and is an in_person candidate.2002-11-04Night photograph of a courtyard-like concrete passage where a man in saffron-orange robes and an orange turban holds a lit sparkler aloft and smiles. Beside him, women in saris, including one in purple silk with a maroon border and another in white with a rudraksha-style mala, also hold sparklers while smiling. A woman in a pale yellow kurta stands at the right edge, and a few onlookers in blue and dark clothing stand behind. A blue plastic chair sits at left. Sparkler light illuminates faces and clothing. The scene suggests a Deepavali celebration with devotees, and the orange-robed man is an appearance-based a person (orange robe and turban) in person, though the cues are moderately uncertain.2002-11-04October 27 20082008-10-27Night outdoor scene at a white stone fire pit or homa kund at AadiKailaasa, with smoke and a small sparkler-like flame rising near the centre. A man in a saffron-orange shawl and robe stands at the pit's edge in motion. Around him, young men and boys in white dhotis and saffron-orange shawls walk and stand in a line, while a crowd of onlookers in white, blue and yellow shirts watches from the left. Some hold lit crackers, and the scene suggests a Diwali celebration with fire offerings. Blue wall lighting and a fluorescent tube light the background. The man in orange has distinctive long hair and a saffron robe, a compatible presentation, but the face and features are not clear enough for an assured identification, so the candidate is uncertain.2008-10-27
