A photograph of an outdoor construction site in progress, showing a large grey stone Shiva linga on a circular yoni-style pedestal standing in a stepped excavation pit with a pool of water. A wooden ladder leans against the linga and small offerings of fruit and flowers sit on its base. Piled grey boulders and reddish-brown earth surround the pit, with low buildings and trees in the background under an overcast sky. No people are clearly visible apart from a small figure far to the left.

A photograph of an outdoor construction site where a large stone Shivling is being built on a square plinth in the middle of a rectangular excavated pond. The pond has tiered brick-lined steps along its far edges and still water reflecting the trees. Loose grey boulders and reddish earth surround the pond, and low roofed buildings and trees stand in the background. Two workers in light clothing are visible on the far steps, and a small blue object sits at the plinth. Offerings of yellow flowers or marigolds lie at the base of the linga. The scene shows construction in progress rather than a ceremony.2008-10-26A photograph of a large grey stone Shiva linga standing on a square base in the middle of a water-filled stepped pit under construction. The linga's pedestal is surrounded by shallow water, with flower offerings and small heaps of marigold petals and leaves at its base. Rough stone blocks and rubble lie along the edge in the foreground, and bare red earth, piled soil and construction materials fill the background.
