A large hall at the Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam sits full of seated devotees on red mats in rows, many in saffron and orange robes, some in white. Several saffron-clad sannyasis in the front rows wear rudraksha malas, shaved heads and white tilak marks, and sit cross-legged before small brass vessels and oil lamps on low wooden stands. Behind them a tall carpeted area and a wall-mounted speaker hang above walls of red curtains. Hundreds of people fill the room, with more standing near the back by a bookshelf. The scene suggests a satsang gathering.
