A nighttime outdoor ritual under a canopy strung with green leaf garlands and hanging cloth banners. In the foreground a young shaved-headed man in white dhoti and shawl with gold beaded necklaces reads from an open book at a microphone. Behind him, several men in white ritual clothes sit on an orange and gold silk cloth before a raised white platform, with a brass oil lamp and a flower garland with a green cloth nearby. A seated figure on a red and gold throne-like seat at left wears a gold necklace, and a standing attendant with long dark hair stands beside it. Steam or smoke rises in the lamplit air, and an audience sits on the ground at left.
