A crowded street procession in an Indian town, with dense crowds of men and women on both sides and many people packed along the road. At the centre, a golden palanquin with a gilded canopy and orange draped cloth is carried forward, and a standing figure in white with an orange shawl stands near the front of the float beside a large decorated deity murti or figure wrapped in flower garlands. Several red and orange flags on poles surround the float. Behind it, a tall gilded ratha-style cart with orange cloth and a red umbrella-shaped canopy is also decorated. Street stalls with awnings line the road, and a red Mahindra tractor-cart is visible at right. Bunting flags hang overhead and a large banner with a painted portrait hangs above the street.
