A photograph of a crowd descending a steep flight of red-and-white painted temple steps toward a temple gateway with colourful painted deity figures on its roof. In the centre, a figure in an orange saffron robe and orange shawl walks down the steps, with a long-haired figure in orange beside a man in white dhoti and shirt who raises one arm. Around them, men in white dhotis and shirts, a bare-chested man in a white dhoti with a red border, and a man in a striped shirt and dark lungi follow. A bald child in a red shirt stands at left, and a man in white holds a metal plate lower left. Bamboo scaffolding and a blue signboard are visible to the left and on the wall.

Another person in an orange robe stands on a lower step facing him. Behind and around them, devotees in white and colourful saris and shirts climb or pause along metal handrails. At the centre, a figure in saffron-orange robes wears a long orange garland of marigolds and walks down the steps with a red-and-white striped shawl; the figure has long dark hair, and the presentation carries cues consistent with a sannyasi, though identity is uncertain. Around them, men in white shirts and white dhotis, some with lanyards, descend alongside a woman in a deep red sari and another in an orange robe at lower left.
