A stage at an outdoor public function with a large white banner behind it showing a stylised oil-lamp graphic and partial Kannada script. A central figure in saffron-orange robes and an orange turban stands at a microphone stand, hands together, with a person candidate appearance: orange ceremonial clothing and turban, shown as a guest of honour on the dais. Seated beside him are several men in white kurtas and dhotis, one in a dark suit, and one in a white cap and black waistcoat. Stage front is lined with marigold and orange-pink flower beds and yellow marigold garlands, with brass oil lamps along the table edge. A uniformed police officer in khaki stands at right, and more people in the background wear white and orange.
