An elephant's trunk reaches in from the left edge. A shirtless man in a green dhoti with a red tilak and rudraksha beads touches the elephant. Beside him, an older man with white hair and moustache wears a white shirt and dhoti. On the right, a long-haired man in an orange saffron robe with a gold border and a thick pink flower garland, plus a gold necklace with a pendant, smiles while the elephant is near him. Several onlookers stand behind in white and orange clothing. A date stamp reads 24 12 2005 on the left edge. A tusked elephant on the left extends its trunk toward a man standing in the centre. He wears a long orange garment with gold border and a gold necklace with a pendant, and a thick pink and yellow flower garland around his neck. He has long dark hair and a red forehead mark, and smiles with palms pressed together. The elephant's mahout holds a wooden goad near the trunk. Nearby stand a man in white with grey hair and a red forehead mark, a shirtless man in a green patterned lungi, a bearded man in white, and several people in white clothing. Behind them rises a carved grey stone temple gopuram with columns and ornamental ledges. The orange-robed person with long dark hair and a garland matches the page's Swamiji-at-event note, and the appearance cues (long swept hair, saffron clothing, flower garland) are distinctive, so this is a probable match, shown as in person.2005-12-25September 24 20062006-09-24Nithyanandeshwara Paramashiva DevalayaA photograph of a temple entrance where an elephant raises its trunk toward a person in saffron robes. The central figure wears an orange turban, an orange shawl over an orange robe with gold border, and a long garland of white and yellow flowers, and holds garland petals in both hands. Around him, devotees in white dhotis and white shirts stand close; a bare-chested older man wears rudraksha beads and a dhoti, and a white-bearded man on the right presses his palms together in greeting. A man in a pink checked shirt in the foreground holds his hand near the elephant. Someone above the elephant's head raises a phone to take a picture. Stone temple gateway architecture frames the scene. Swamiji (probable) is the central figure in saffron robes and orange turban with a flower garland, being greeted with an elephant at the temple entrance.2006-09-24A photograph at night of a crowd gathered at a temple entrance with stone pillars. In the centre, a man in orange robes and an orange turban wears a multi-coloured flower garland and a rudraksha mala, and reaches toward the trunk of a grey elephant. Beside him a bearded sannyasi in orange with a mala stands close. Around them devotees in white and orange clothes raise their hands and smile, and men in white shirts and dark trousers stand at the right edge. A candidate for a person is present on the basis of his orange turban, flower garland and rudraksha mala, though the appearance is uncertain (probable). The scene suggests a temple visit with an elephant blessing, but no ritual name is clearly visible.2008-01-02March 17 20182018-03-17 +1 copies
