A temple altar in KAILASA Los Angeles dominated by a golden deity murti of Shiva and Parvati seated on a raised throne-like platform, framed by an ornate gold arch studded with decorative discs. Shiva holds a trident, and both figures wear red-brown garments, gold necklaces and garlands of yellow, orange and white flowers. In front stands a large shivalinga draped in a striped cloth and crowned with a red-and-gold turban, surrounded by marigold and red flower garlands and a rudraksha-style chain. Standing statues flank the central deity on each side: one in brown robes with a white-and-gold headdress holding a hand raised in blessing, and one with a dark turban and long grey beard, also garlanded. Brass oil lamps, a small kalasha and offering bowls sit on the altar, with a smaller pink-clad figure in the foreground and a decorated painted pillar behind the arch.
