Indoor photo of a ritual in a room with beige marble-patterned walls and a white ceiling with fluorescent tubes and ceiling fans. A bare-chested older man in orange-red dhoti and gold-bordered shawl, wearing a gold necklace, rudraksha mala and gold bangles, has ash or sandalwood paste applied to his forehead by a long-haired man in a saffron-orange shawl with a gold border. A standing attendant in a white kurta and white dhoti with a rudraksha mala holds a silver bowl and a bundle of green leaves. A brass oil lamp sits in the foreground beside a metal railing, and a red cushioned seat is visible behind.
