Night photograph of a decorated floating platform on dark water beside a stone step. A golden throne with red velvet cushions and a white canopy with coloured tassels sits at the centre, framed by garlands of marigold, white jasmine and multicoloured flowers. Three people in orange or saffron robes stand near the platform: one at left holds a lit oil lamp, another at centre bends forward over a low wooden table with a small offering tray and flower garland, and a man in white dhoti with a red shawl stands at right. A fluorescent light tube lights the scene.

The seated figure's identity cannot be confirmed from appearance, so he is described by role and clothing only; the orange robes and throne suggest a presiding teacher. Lamps and garlands indicate an aarti or abhishekam-style water ritual.2011-03-03March 03 20112011-03-03 +1 copiesPhotograph taken from above of a ceremonial stage set up for a seated teacher on an ornate gilded throne with a red cushioned seat, draped in garlands of marigold, white jasmine and multicoloured flowers.
