A golden statue of a standing male figure, bare-chested with a draped golden dhoti, right hand raised in a blessing gesture, is being anointed. A hand wearing a gold bangle pours a liquid from a metal vessel over the statue's head, and the liquid streams down its face, shoulders and body. The statue stands within an ornate gold-toned arched frame with repoussé floral carving, beside red drapery and a blurred green background. A string of beads hangs at the top left.

A silver vessel held by unseen hands pours a stream of yellow liquid over the statue, which splashes onto the pedestal, consistent with an abhishekam. The statue is a depiction, not a physical person, so no living people are counted in the scene.2011-12-28A golden-coloured statue of a standing male sage with raised right hand in abhaya mudra is being bathed by a hand pouring liquid from a brass pot onto its head, with liquid streaming down the face, chest and loincloth. The statue stands on a stone pedestal before an orange and yellow draped backdrop decorated with marigold and multicoloured flower garlands. Behind it, a seated figure in orange robes and a saffron turban stands near brass vessels and folded white and green cloths. The scene suggests an abhishekam ritual. No physical person is clearly the subject; the bathing hands belong to an attendant, and the seated figure is a painted or statue depiction.2010-12-14A golden-brown liquid. A pair of human hands holding a brass kalasha pours from above onto the head and shoulders of the figure, which has an open palm raised in blessing and wears a draped dhoti-style cloth. Honey or oil-like substance drips over the face, chest and yellow-gold dhoti, with clumps of offerings clinging to the shoulders and waist. Behind, a blurred orange-robed figure sits near yellow and purple marigold garlands and white draped cloth. The statue is the central subject; no physical people are clearly in the foreground beyond the pouring hand.2010-12-19 +1 copies
