A prostrate devotee in orange robes with a gold-trimmed cloth lies flat on a leopard-print mat on a stone pavement, arms stretched forward, hair in a bun with gold ornaments. Around them a crowd stands in a covered hall: men in white dhotis and orange shawls, a bald priest in orange with a rudraksha mala pressing palms together, and women in orange and blue saris. Several people hold their hands in anjali. A man in white kurta and an orange shawl on the right holds his hands folded. Several photographers stand at the edge.2012-09-12Outdoor photograph of a crowd gathered in a narrow courtyard in front of a temple entrance. In the centre a man lies prostrate face-down on an orange cloth spread over pale ground, with his arms stretched forward and a rudraksha mala around his neck. Around him, saffron-robed sannyasis with shaved heads and beaded malas stand with ornamental brass vessels, and one holds a black cloth. Behind them, devotees in white dhotis and sarees, some with folded hands, watch in silence, and a woman in a red saree holds a small brass pot. Lamps and a decorated doorway are visible in the background.2012-05-18Outdoors under dappled tree shade, a long-haired figure in an orange-saffron robe lies prostrate with forehead to the ground on a white cloth, in full-length pranam before a brick-lined yagna or puja area at the right edge. Behind them, a crowd of devotees stands in white and cream clothing; a man in the centre-front wears white with a red-and-gold shawl and holds his hands in anjali, another man in white stands beside him with hands folded, and a woman at left wears a white sari with a purple head covering. Brass offerings and a fruit plate sit on the raised platform at right.2005-07-21A photograph of an outdoor temple-approach ceremony on a ground painted with red, orange and white kolam designs. A figure in orange robes and an orange turban lies prostrate face-down on the ground in full devotional prostration. Around him stand a crowd of men mostly in white dhotis and white shirts, several wearing rudraksha-style necklaces, with hands folded or joined in reverence. One standing man in the centre wears a white kurta and a long orange shawl and has long dark hair and a beard, with hands clasped; he is a candidate for a person but the appearance is uncertain, so he is described only by role as a devotee in white and orange. A man in olive-green shirt stands nearby holding a small book. A white gopuram-style temple tower with decorative spires rises in the background under a pale sky.2007-01-12A photograph of a temple floor where a person with long dark dreadlocked hair, wearing an orange-brown garment and a white flower garland, lies prostrate face-down in full obeisance. Standing around them are devotees in white dhotis with gold borders, one holding a bouquet of yellow and orange flowers in a maroon cloth, others in orange saffron robes with bare upper bodies and rudraksha beads, and a person in a turquoise jacket and blue track pants. A seated woman in orange at left has ash marks on her forehead. Grey stone pavement and carved stone pillars frame the scene.2017-02-06May 18 20122012-05-18December 04 2006 - Karthikai Deepam, Tiruvannamalai2006-12-04January 12 20072007-01-12A photograph of a temple courtyard where a devotee lies prostrate face-down on a striped leopard-print mat with black fringe, arms stretched forward, wearing an orange blouse and sari, gold bangles and a gold necklace.
