A photograph of a musical performance on a stage draped with blue cloth, with a red cloth covering a low platform in front. Four musicians sit on the stage: at left a man in white clothes plays a drum-like instrument; next to him a young man in a cream kurta plays a violin; beside him a young man in an orange-brown shirt plays another violin; further right a boy in white sits with hands folded and an older man in white plays a percussion instrument. Behind them a bronze Nataraja image stands in a circular arch framed by garlands of yellow, red and pink flowers, with brass lamps and flower arrangements on both sides and a silver draped backdrop. Two more people stand at the far right in the background.2003-01-01A photograph of a musical performance on a blue cloth stage in front of a silver draped backdrop. Five men sit cross-legged: on the left a player beats a barrel-shaped mridangam-style drum in a white shirt and white dhoti; in the centre a man in a white shirt and dhoti plays a long wind instrument (nadaswaram-type) with a bell-shaped end; beside him a younger man in white plays a second wind instrument; further right a boy in white plays a small instrument; and on the far right a man in a checked shirt plays a hand percussion instrument. Behind them a large dark metal arch frame encircles a deity murti of Nataraja, dancing, adorned with a multicoloured floral garland. Flanking the stage are golden lamp stands draped with yellow and orange garlands, and a red-covered altar table holds further flowers. The scene suggests a devotional musical performance.2003-01-01Three musicians perform on a raised stage with a red floor covering and blue draped backdrop with white valance.
