May 25 20132013-05-25Temple ritual photograph in a dimly lit shrine. Three priests in saffron-red and gold-bordered dhotis stand before a large deity murti heavily decorated with garlands of yellow, white, pink and green flowers. The central priest wears a tall gold-patterned crown and a white and red bead necklace, holding a shallow silver bowl. The priest at left wears a red turban and red garland, reaching forward toward the bowl. The rightmost priest, bald and bare-chested, wears a rudraksha-style mala and gold-edged cloth and holds a small plate. A third attendant in a cream cap stands in the background beside brass lamps and offering vessels.2014-12-05A photograph of a temple shrine with a golden-framed arch behind a seated pair of deity murtis draped in orange and red cloth with garlands of marigolds and green leaves. The figures on the throne wear crowns and jewelled necklaces. In the foreground, a man in white dhoti and shawl holds a silver tray. Beside the deities stands a figure in orange robe and rudraksha mala with long hair and forehead marks, holding a garland; he is a sannyasi-style devotee and his appearance is not clearly identifiable, so no identification is made. The shrine is roofed with stone and red curtains hang at the side.2010-12-28A young attendant in saffron-orange cloth with a leopard-print blouse, rudraksha malas and white sacred markings on arms and forehead stands at left holding a red and white flower garland. Beside them a large golden lion sculpture sits at the lower right, and a gold-plated ornate throne with a cobra-hood backrest is draped in a long garland of red, white, yellow and purple flowers. Behind, a golden statue of a figure wearing a rust-red turban and gold necklaces sits in a gilded arched frame. Brass lamps and an ornate golden staff stand on a table at lower left. The attendant appears to be a ritual helper offering flowers at the throne.2018-12-20 +2 copiesNovember 09 20072007-11-09February 09 20122012-02-09June 29 20142014-06-29 +2 copiesA person in an orange-red dhoti with a yellow border and a red-and-blue garland stands at the left with palms joined in anjali, smiling, with a white-and-red tilak on the forehead and gold bangles on the wrist. Before them a large deity murti and a golden shivalinga-like form are heavily adorned with multicolored flower garlands in red, yellow, purple and white, with gold ornaments and a gold kalasha-style base. Behind the garlanded figures, seated deities with crowns and gold jewellery occupy a golden shrine. The setting is a temple mandapa with a gold-painted arch. Two people partly visible at the left edge wear saffron and white. The person in front is identified only by appearance cues: an orange robe, a shaved-looking head with a tilak, and gold bracelets, which do not establish identity; treat as a devotee performing darshan and puja.2015-01-04 +1 copiesA man in a brown dhoti with a gold-banded waistcloth and a red-and-white rudraksha-style garland stands at a golden throne-like seat, hands joined in namaskar while adjusting a garland of marigolds, roses and white flowers. A small brown-robed figure of a seated deity murti is decorated with a multicoloured floral arch of red, yellow, green, purple and white blooms. Behind him a younger man in saffron-orange robes with white forehead markings stands with hands folded. Brass offering plates and a small lamp sit on the floor, with an orange cloth draped across a low table, in a plain room with maroon curtains.2013-05-25September 09 20132013-09-09A photograph of a ritual before a golden palanquin-style ornate seat draped with multicoloured flower garlands in red, yellow, green and purple and white jasmine strands. A bare-chested man in a rust-brown dhoti-style cloth with a red and white beaded necklace and gold armlet is facing the decorated shrine, hands joined in front of a small white-clad assistant standing behind him. A small brass plate and offerings sit on a low platform at lower left, and orange-and-red floral garlands are draped over the front of the seat. A standing figure of a deity murti, dressed in an orange-and-brown garment with a gold crown, is garlanded at the centre. Plum velvet curtains frame the room. Central deity murti, gold-crowned with a silver-and-gold body and jewelled necklaces, is seated with garlands of yellow marigold and red flowers. Two priests stand on silver pedestals: the left priest in white dhoti with a gold-and-purple cloth on his shoulder and a gold turban is draping a striped silk cloth over the deity; the right priest in white dhoti with a yellow-orange shawl and green turban holds a cloth and wears a marigold garland. In front, three decorated kalasha pots garlanded with marigolds and red flowers sit beside a fire pit with a bright flame, with oil lamps on either side.2015-07-13
