A large gilt-framed portrait stands above a wooden seat: it shows a long-haired figure in orange sitting cross-legged in a meditative pose with a raised hand, a rudraksha-style bead necklace, beneath a banyan tree. Orange draped tables and microphones sit in the foreground. The two people on the left and centre are bowing with their heads down, and the figure on the right is kneeling low over a chair. The portrait is a painted depiction and is not a physical person.2010-09-28June 06 20132013-06-06 +1 copiesApril 17 20172017-04-17A devotee in an orange kurta prostrates on a tiled floor in front of a wooden framed portrait labelled "PARAMAHAMSA NITHYANANDA". The portrait shows a smiling man with long dark hair wearing orange robes and layered white flower garlands, seated before a tree. A brass tray with a lit oil lamp and a small brass bell sit near the frame, with red flowers and a small offering set below it. A second person in a white dhoti with gold border stands at the upper left edge, partly cropped, on a striped mat. The scene appears to be a shrine corner in an ashram setting.2009-08-20A photograph of a devotee lying prostrate on an orange cloth in front of an ornate golden-and-red throne-style chair. On the chair sits a framed portrait of a long-haired man in saffron-orange robes, wearing a rudraksha-style bead necklace and raising one hand in blessing, garlanded with a thick red and white flower garland. The prostrate devotee wears white ritual clothing with a red-bordered cloth and a gold ornament in the ear. Brass puja vessels, a kalasha-style pot, an oil lamp, a bowl of offerings and a folded orange cloth lie on the floor before the chair. Behind the throne, gold and yellow garlands and a carved stone temple wall are visible. The portrait is a printed image, not a physical person on the chair, and the prostration is a ritual act of honour.2010-12-14A seated man in a rust-red robe, with long dark dreadlocked hair under a leopard-print orange headwrap, sits on a red cushioned throne before an ornate silver backdrop. He wears layered rudraksha malas, a gold necklace, bead bracelets and armbands, and rests one hand on the head of a kneeling man in white dhoti with bare torso. Two women in saffron-orange garments stand beside them; one holds a white strip of cloth and the other a bead-adorned sash, while white markings decorate the arms of the attendant at left. The scene suggests a blessing or initiation ritual in a temple-like hall with gold and silver details.2017-12-10October 31 20132013-10-31 +1 copiesA shaved-headed man in a rust-brown robe with a rudraksha mala, seen from behind, sits before a golden throne with red tiger-striped cushions and gold lion-head armrests. Above the throne hangs a framed printed portrait of a smiling man in an orange turban and orange shawl, bearing a red bindi; its caption reads "PARAMAHAMSA NITHYANANDA". A tiered silver oil lamp with many lit wicks stands before the throne, and a woman's arm extends from the right holding a lamp. A silver trident stands at the right side. Pink draped fabric and hanging bells frame the scene.2014-07-25A devotee in saffron-orange draped robes stands barefoot with head bowed and hands folded in prayer, facing a shrine. Behind the shrine, a framed portrait labelled "Paramahamsa Nithyananda" shows a seated figure in orange robes and a white flower garland, one hand raised in blessing, against a tree-root backdrop. Below it, a white figure in an orange turban and red-and-white floral garland sits on an orange-draped seat, with a second small figure in red and orange robes and a green cloth bundle, brass vessels and scattered petals on a low wooden table. Carved wooden pillars and ornate red-and-gold decorations fill the background, with a strip of mixed deity imagery above.2012-04-11
