A group of saffron-robed devotees and sannyasis descends stone steps at a ghat, many wearing rudraksha malas and gold-bordered orange dhotis. The central figure, a person in an orange garment with a long yellow and magenta flower garland, raises a hand in greeting; a long staff or stick rises behind them. Others on the steps raise arms and clap, and a crowd of onlookers in orange and white stands above on the temple-side stairs. The image is washed out and overexposed.

Photograph of a group of saffron-robed sannyasis descending stone steps at a riverside ghat in Varanasi, with a whitish washed-out tone. A central figure with long dark hair wears a large yellow and red marigold garland, an orange-gold wrap and a rudraksha mala, and a second robed man walks just behind him. Other saffron-clad men with shaved heads and beaded malas accompany them, and a woman in a pink and magenta sari with folded hands stands at the left edge beside a white stone archway and carved wall. The steps lead toward the water of the Ganga.

Photograph of a white temple stairway with a group descending. A man in saffron-orange dhoti and shawl with a long rudraksha mala and swept-back long hair walks down the steps, his appearance a probable Swamiji candidate by those cues. A man in white dhoti with gold border bends forward in front of him, and a white-clad man with gold-bordered dhoti and a mala holds a tablet. Behind them, women in saris and men in white and red shirts, some with white dhotis, watch from the steps and white walls.

A photograph of a procession climbing stone steps outdoors under a clear sky, with a white metal railing and a wall with a painted mural at right. At right, a barefoot man with long swept-back dark hair and a dark beaded necklace wears a loose orange saffron wrap and walks upward. Beside and behind him, several shaved-headed men in orange and white ritual clothing wear gold-bead necklaces and gold-trimmed white dhotis; one in orange holds a long red pole, and one in orange carries a small orange cloth. A man in a red shirt with white dhoti walks among them, and a youth in white with a gold necklace stands at center. Swamiji (probable) is the barefoot figure at right, identified by long swept-back hair, orange saffron wrap, and dark beaded necklace, in a procession role.

A procession on a paved courtyard beneath tall coconut palms. A smiling man in the centre wears a rust-maroon dhoti and shawl with gold borders, a white and gold garland and a red-and-yellow flower garland, and waves his right hand. Behind him, a bald man in maroon with a rudraksha mala walks alongside a man in a white dhoti holding a tray of offerings. On the right, a man in orange robes with a white tilak and rudraksha beads holds a gold pole carrying a red and gold embroidered parasol-style banner. Other devotees in orange and maroon robes follow, and a woman in orange with sunglasses walks among them. A red-cushioned palanquin frame sits at the left edge.

Three people sit side by side on a low white wall outdoors, with green trees behind them. On the left, a young woman with curly light-brown hair wears a teal t-shirt, green patterned trousers, a wooden rudraksha-style mala and an orange shawl, with an identity badge on a lanyard. In the centre, a smiling man wears an orange turban decorated with a small crescent ornament and tassel, an orange robe over a red top, several strands of beaded necklaces and a gold-coloured pendant. On the right, a smiling woman with curly hair wears a white top, green striped trousers, an orange shawl and a lanyard, holding a small black object in her lap.

A photograph of people walking through a narrow stone passage at a temple gateway, with grilled metal gates on both sides. In the centre, a man with long dark hair wears a bright orange robe, orange-beaded mala and a gold-coloured ceremonial necklace, smiling and raising his right hand in greeting. Behind and beside him, several saffron-robed men walk, one with a shaved head and white tilak on his forehead. On the right, women in white and cream saris with gold borders stand with palms pressed together in namaste. On the left, a woman in white with a red shawl and other visitors in light clothing also press their hands together. Other figures are visible further back in the passage.

A standing man in saffron-orange robes wears a long red and yellow marigold garland and a gold bead necklace, with long swept-back dark hair and a red forehead mark, smiling on a raised concrete platform. A taller saffron-robed attendant with a shaved head and a red-and-white garland stands to the left beneath a red fringed umbrella. Several white-clad men in dhotis stand behind, one with a smeared pink face and another in a yellow-striped shawl with glasses. Scattered petals lie on the ledge, under an overcast white sky. The man in the centre has long hair, saffron robes and rudraksha-style gold beads, matching the appearance-based cues of Swamiji (probable), with the page noting this event.

A standing man in a rust-red turban with a small tilak and red bindi wears a rust-red garment with broad golden-yellow borders, a marigold and white jasmine garland, and a brown rudraksha mala. He presses both palms together at his chest near a weathered sandstone wall. Beside him, a bald man in matching red and gold robes holds a dark snake-like staff and an orange bag.
