Many people walk single file along the wooden deck, most in white clothing with red or maroon shawls, and many carry tall orange flags on poles. Some figures wear red and white, and a few appear to be riding or pushing a motorbike. Orange flags and posts line the railings, and small orange markers float in the water beside the bridge. Distant tents and flags are visible through the haze on the far bank.2013-02-12A large crowd walks in a procession across a pontoon bridge of steel-framed walkways supported by grey cylindrical floats over a river at hazy dawn. Many men wear orange and saffron robes, some in white dhotis and kurtas, and several carry multicoloured ceremonial umbrellas on poles. A flag with saffron colour flies at left and a decorated palanquin-like object is visible near the far end. Some onlookers in ordinary clothes stand along the railing at right. The water is muddy brown and the bridge is lined with bollards and ropes.2007-01-21January 21 20072007-01-21A long wooden pontoon bridge crosses a wide, hazy river, supported by dark rounded floats. Many robed devotees in white, red and saffron stand in dense rows along the railed walkway. Saffron flags flutter from poles, and a white banner with red lettering is held aloft near the centre. Large concrete pontoons sit beneath the bridge, tied with ropes, and a decorated float or ratha with a canopy appears at the far end. Several people carry drums and instruments.2013-02-10February 10 20132013-02-10
