Behind them, a gold-framed shrine holds two large painted deity figures in red and gold garments, with a golden seated figure in saffron before a gold kalasha-topped structure garlanded with marigolds and purple flowers. Red drapery and brass lamps frame the shrine, and a copper vessel sits on the floor. The scene reads as abhishekam at a temple shrine.2010-11-12March 07 20132013-03-07February 09 20122012-02-09A photograph inside a temple shrine showing a priest in white dhoti and shawl standing at left, holding a brass oil lamp and lit wick toward a golden deity pair. The central murtis are gilded figures seated on a dais, one wearing an orange and green turban with a trident, the other with a tall crown, red garlands and pink-and-white draped cloth. A large purple and gold altar cloth, marigold and red flower garlands, a brass bell and brass lamps surround the arch, with a red curtain behind. The scene shows puja in progress. The priest is not identifiable as a person from this image.2013-01-25A seated man in orange sannyasi clothing and a long rudraksha mala sits on an ornate cream upholstered throne with gold carved trim, smiling and holding a thread. Behind him stands a large gilded arch framing golden deity statues: a figure in an orange turban and pink-and-orange garments holds a trident, and a seated figure in orange with a crown and jewelry is adorned with yellow and red marigold garlands. Between them is a golden shivalinga-like murti with a cobra hood and garlands. To the right, a blue-robed standing figure with rudraksha beads holds a brass lamp stand. A green curtain and a brass oil lamp complete the shrine. A bowl of red apples sits at the left edge. The man is the only physical person in the scene.2011-07-08March 20 20132013-03-20
