December 26 20132013-12-26Outdoors under a canopy, a man with long dark hair, white forehead paste and an ornate gold-and-beaded necklace sits on a red-cushioned throne with a golden back, smiling and extending his hands toward a devotee. He wears a rust-orange robe. Around him, saffron-clad sannyasis wearing rudraksha malas and white-clad devotees stand close. In the foreground a woman in a white sari with a red-bordered shawl and a garland of white flowers holds a framed portrait, while a woman in orange blouse steadies it. The framed portrait, decorated with white flower garlands, shows a man in orange robes. A decorated saffron-and-gold ceremonial parasol with a red emblem hangs overhead, and a brass bell and palm trees are visible. A group of onlookers fills the background. Ritual padapuja setting.2013-12-26A procession of barefoot saffron-robed sannyasis and women devotees in rust-orange and maroon cloth walks along a tree-lined dirt road in bright daylight. Several men have shaved heads and wear rudraksha malas, and the women wear beaded necklaces and drape their garments over their shoulders. Behind them a decorated vehicle with a red, orange and yellow floral canopy carries a framed image of a deity and a flag on a pole. The group numbers roughly two dozen visible people, with some partly obscured in the background. No individual can be confidently identified as a person from appearance, so roles are used.2013-11-15A seated figure in a red-orange saffron robe with a thick rudraksha mala and a gold-and-bead necklace extends one arm toward a kneeling devotee in white with an orange shawl, who bends forward at a cushioned seat. Behind, several women in matching red-orange sarees with beaded malas stand in a line, one holding a silver trident aloft. A man in white with an orange shawl kneels at the lower edge, bowing toward the seated figure's feet during a padapuja-style honouring. Bright sunlight and red walls fill the background. Beside him, a man in red robes holds a silver staff topped with an ornament, and a woman in white sari with a red shawl smiles. Another man carries a large red and gold parasol with fringe, and a silver trident is held in front. Several women and men in white kurtas and white clothes, some with rudraksha malas, stand nearby. Green trees and a temple-like structure appear behind, with an orange flag fluttering.2013-12-02December 26 20132013-12-26A procession on a dirt path lined with palm trees. In the centre, a man with long dark swept-back hair wears an orange saffron robe with gold border, a white and red flower garland, and a rudraksha-style necklace; he walks barefoot with a shawl. Behind him, men in white shirts and dhotis with orange shawls carry colourful tasselled ceremonial umbrellas on poles. Strings of orange and white bunting hang overhead. On the right, a woman in white sari with orange border holds a decorated brass-and-wire pot. Several men in white kurtas and dhotis walk beside them, some wearing identity badges on lanyards.2007-01-01A barefoot procession walks along a paved rural road lined with green trees, with a decorated palanquin or ratha topped with a golden canopy visible in the background. Several devotees in matching rust-orange and saffron robes with rudraksha malas lead the group; a shaved-headed man in front-centre gestures with his hands, and women in orange saris walk alongside. The scene looks like a ritual procession with the decorated vehicle at the rear.2013-11-15February 23 20152015-02-23January 01 20172017-01-01August 17 20142014-08-17A procession on a red carpet walks toward a temple shrine under a yellow canopy.
