April 14 20132013-04-14A group of devotees stands on the white and red striped steps of a temple entrance, many with palms pressed together in namaskar. Most wear white clothing: a man in white kurta and dhoti at left, a woman in white salwar at centre, and several men in white shirts. A woman at right wears a red and gold saree and a shoulder bag, and another woman in an orange-and-white outfit stands among the group. Garlands of marigolds hang from the entrance arch, and an orange cloth draped near the steps. Marigold petals lie on the step ledge below.2009-12-23December 23 20092009-12-23A crowd of devotees and visitors stands along a red carpet outside a white building decorated with marigold garlands and mango-leaf toran strands hanging from its upper balconies. Two young men in white dhoti and kurta walk away from the camera on the carpet; one wears an orange shawl and the other a yellow shawl. Behind them, men in shirts and trousers, women in saris and salwar, and a small child in a yellow top and blue shorts wait in a line. A tree stands at right. No person in the scene is clearly identifiable as a person from appearance, so no candidate is marked.2009-09-10A crowd gathers outside a red-walled building with an open sliding-gate entrance and a white rangoli-style floor design in front. At centre, a bare-chested man with long swept-back hair wears an orange-saffron shawl over a rust-red dhoti with gold borders, a rudraksha mala, and a garland, gesturing with his right hand as he speaks. Beside him, a woman in a rust-red sari with a gold border and a red-brown shawl holds a rudraksha mala and stands among devotees. Around them, men in white dhotis and white shirts, and children in casual clothes, including a girl in an orange top and a boy in a dark jacket, watch. Several people carry orange cloth bags. The man's appearance with long hair, saffron clothing and rudraksha cues is consistent with the Swamiji candidate, so he is described as probable Swamiji (probable) in the discourse-event context.2015-02-01December 19 20102010-12-19A photograph of a doorway in a white-walled hall, with a row of people in white and orange clothing entering from a sunlit courtyard decorated with green leaf garlands. In the foreground, a man in an orange robe with a dark beard stands with palms pressed together, facing the doorway, while a woman in a grey and olive sari holds a water bottle. Several young people in white shirts and red shawls, some holding booklets or small printed photos, stand along the sides of the doorway. A man in orange robes and a woman in white garments stand further inside, one of whom may be a sannyasi, with a woman in white beside him. Their identities are uncertain from appearance alone.2009-06-17A photograph of a seated crowd of devotees on a stone temple step during a Brahmotsavam celebration. Many women in white, cream, pink and yellow saris and salwar sit with hands folded in prayer or resting in laps. Two standing statues of deities are draped in orange cloth and garlanded with marigolds, one at the left and one at the right. A man in white shirt and white dhoti stands with palms pressed together near the left statue. A woman in an orange sari stands at the doorway in the background. A woman in a red shawl sits at the lower right beside a potted plant. A large crowd of devotees gathers in a courtyard before a temple entrance.2008-12-28A crowd of devotees gathers in a doorway lined with orange-painted doors and decorated with leafy green garlands and white flower strands, during what appears to be a morning procession. Several men in white kurta-style clothes stand with palms pressed together in greeting on the left. A man in a bright red patterned kurta with a forehead tilak stands near the centre. Behind him a woman in a yellow sari walks alongside a fair-haired man in white robes and other people in white clothing. Two men in white shirts and a few women with long hair stand in the foreground. A small brown bag is held near the centre. The overall scene suggests an ashram gathering.2009-06-17A photograph of an outdoor temple entrance with orange-painted walls and white-and-red striped steps. In the foreground, a man in a flowing orange robe with long swept-back hair, a gold headband and a rudraksha-style necklace raises one hand in a blessing gesture; the appearance cues are distinctive, so he is a person candidate. Beside him stands a bald man in white dhoti and shawl with red borders, holding a small orange item. Behind them, several people in white dhotis, orange and saffron robes, and saris stand on the steps and in the doorway. A red board with a framed portrait and a sign reading the event name stands to the right, next to a deity murti garlanded with yellow flowers. Other devotees in green, lavender, and light blue clothing stand with hands pressed together nearby.2010-12-27August 24 20142014-08-24Overhead view of a crowd gathered at the entrance of a building, with a staircase and a red carpet leading up. A woman in an orange sari with a large pink and white flower garland and gold necklace stands at the centre, while a man in an orange shawl over white clothes walks beside a man in white with an orange cloth over his shoulder. Several devotees in white shirts and dhotis line the steps, and a woman in a yellow sari holds a brass plate. A young child in orange is held by a man in white on the right. Potted palms and a metal railing frame the entrance, with cars and motorbikes parked outside.2010-01-19
