A seated man in orange-brown robes wears a red and white flower garland, a gold necklace with rudraksha-style beads, gold bangles and a gold armband, and takes an offering of a bhiksha-like gesture from a kneeling man in white dhoti and a red shawl on the left, who holds out cupped hands and a yellow cloth bundle. Behind them a seated audience of devotees, many in white and pastel saris and white shirts, sits on the steps. He smiles and holds a silver tray with a small oil lamp and flowers. Behind him a woman in orange sari wears a red-brown shawl and rudraksha mala, and a standing man in white dhoti with gold border holds a mala. Seated at right, a bespectacled man in white kurta with white tilak sits on a purple-bordered cloth. Partly visible attendants at left hold offering trays with flowers and brass vessels.2017-12-15April 14 20132013-04-14April 14 20132013-04-14December 11 20112011-12-11A man with long hair, a beard and a vibhuti mark stands on a red-carpeted dais before an ornate gilded throne with leopard-print cushions, wearing a rust-brown dhoti and shawl, a pink and white flower garland and layered gold necklaces. Two young men in saffron-orange robes and orange turbans or long dreadlocks hold a tray and a kalasha-like vessel. A kneeling man in a white dhoti tends the ritual, and a bronze lamp stands nearby while a golden throne and gilded deity figures decorate the hall. The scene shows the Meenakshi Pattabhishekam coronation ritual. The standing man is a person candidate in person, based on the saffron-and-gold ceremonial cues and central position, with uncertain identity.2017-05-05July 18 20132013-07-18May 05 20172017-05-05
