In the foreground two young men in saffron/orange robes lead the group: one wears an orange shawl over a red undershirt and orange sandals, the other wears an orange kurta and dhoti with long dark hair. Behind them an older man in white shirt and white dhoti with a red tilak walks beside a woman in a white sari with green border and a rudraksha-style necklace. Many followers in white clothes and yellow shawls and scarves, including young women in white saris and young men, stretch back along the trail.2009-08-05Outdoor photograph of a man in saffron-orange silk garment with gold border draped as a sannyasi's robe, walking barefoot along a concrete path. He has swept-back dark hair, white sandalwood tilak with a red bindi on his forehead, and a thin black cord around his neck, eyes lowered. The central man in front wears a rust-brown dhoti with gold borders and a long orange-marigold garland with gold beads, his eyes closed and a red tilak on his forehead. A second man behind wears a bright yellow-orange dhoti with pink borders and a white forehead band. A third man at left, partly turned, wears orange cloth with his hands folded. A dark stone shivalinga-like black object and a red stone sit to the right near a red mat. Sandy ground and stone benches complete the outdoor setting.2013-05-09 +1 copiesTwo young shaved-headed boys in saffron-orange robes sit on the floor performing a puja before a small dark stone deity murti on a bamboo mat, surrounded by red and white flower petals and white flowers on a silver tray. The boy on the left, wearing glasses and a rudraksha mala, dabs red powder near the murti while the boy on the right, in a saffron wrap with a red-marked white tilak, chants with his mouth open. Behind them a monk in orange with a white forehead tilak chants, and a large seated crowd in white and red clothing raises open palms in devotion. A small oil lamp stands at the left edge. The setting is an indoor hall with a light tiled floor.2013-10-16August 05 20092009-08-05Outdoor ashram scene on a paved courtyard with hexagonal tiles. In the foreground a man with long dark wavy hair, a red bindi and a dark rudraksha mala wears a sleeveless saffron-orange robe and walks barefoot toward the viewer. Behind him, a bald man in a white kurta and white dhoti wears an orange shawl and walks with others. Further back, several men in white garments with yellow or orange shawls walk or stand on a sandy ground with circular ash-or-earth ritual platforms, near a stone lingam on a red-and-white pedestal, palms and a yellow-painted post. A white kolam is drawn on the tiles in the lower foreground.2010-09-03
