In the foreground a man with long dark wavy hair, a red bindi and a dark rudraksha mala wears a sleeveless saffron-orange robe and walks barefoot toward the viewer. Behind him, a bald man in a white kurta and white dhoti wears an orange shawl and walks with others. Further back, several men in white garments with yellow or orange shawls walk or stand on a sandy ground with circular ash-or-earth ritual platforms, near a stone lingam on a red-and-white pedestal, palms and a yellow-painted post. A white kolam is drawn on the tiles in the lower foreground.

A man in flowing saffron-orange robes with a long rudraksha mala and a red bindi walks barefoot across striped woven mats in an outdoor temple courtyard. Beside him a shaven-headed man in white dhoti and shawl with red borders, holding a folded paper, walks with bare chest and a rudraksha mala. Behind them more men in white dhotis stand near an orange-washed plinth, with a black stone Nandi bull draped in red and orange marigold garlands and a grey stone female figure on the left. Stone and brick temple structures, palm fronds and a tall pillar with garlands appear in the background.

Several other people in white and light shirts follow in the background.

A barefoot man with long, loose dark hair stands on a mound of reddish-brown earth in an outdoor yard. He wears a sleeveless saffron-orange cloth wrapped over one shoulder and draped around the body, and holds the fabric at his waist with one hand. Behind him are a large heap of cut grey granite blocks, a coconut palm, and other trees, with a power line overhead. He looks downward, apparently preparing for a fire walk. The image is a photograph of a single person.

To the right, a man in orange robes with a gold bead necklace holds a pink towel, and a kneeling man in a yellow shawl bows at the lower right.
