A man walks barefoot along a woven mat with blue borders toward the viewer, in front of a gold-framed ornate arch set among green foliage. He wears a saffron-orange dhoti and shawl, a belt, a long rudraksha mala and gold ceremonial necklace, gold armlets and bangles, and a white tilak on his forehead; his long dark hair is swept back. Behind him stand dark-skinned deity murtis, one holding a golden trident and wearing an orange turban and floral garlands, the other adorned with gold jewellery and a red-pink garment. Red and white striped walls, potted palms and a black stone plaque with script frame the scene, and a brass tray sits at the right edge.

A man in saffron-orange robes with a long, swept-back hairstyle and an orange-and-red rudraksha-style mala stands with palms pressed together in namaskar beside a row of black stone deity statues draped in garlands of orange and white flowers. One statue wears an orange turban and a white dhoti-like cloth. Behind them stand other black murtis, a tall arched gold-framed gateway, a red-and-white striped plinth, a brass kalasha-style vessel and a small lamp on the platform. A plain sign with Tamil text stands at the base of the shrine. Palms, trees and a clear sky sit behind the scene. Swamiji (probable): the saffron robes, long swept-back hair and mala form the visible cues for the man, who is greeting the deity murtis in an outdoor shrine setting.

On the left, black stone deity murtis are decorated with marigold and multicolour flower garlands and an orange cloth; a small saffron-robed figure sits on a plinth in front. A man in an orange dhoti and orange shawl, with long hair and a red-beaded rudraksha-style mala and beaded bracelets, walks on a path to the right and smiles, appearing to be a sannyasi devotee. Palms and trees fill the background.
