A crowded outdoor food distribution under a large maroon and brown canopy supported by bamboo poles. Men in white shirts and trousers, some with white or red ID badges, stand at the front serving food in clear plastic containers, while a man at lower right bends over a steel tray. Women in saris and salwar, some wearing orange, red and pink saris and white shawls, wait with plates and containers in the dense crowd. Steel serving vessels and food packets line the table at lower right. Buildings and parked vehicles are visible behind the tent.

A large open-sided tent with a red, green and multicoloured canopy hosts a communal meal. Many people sit cross-legged on the floor eating from metal plates while others stand holding plates of food. Men in white shirts and dhotis, a bare-chested older man and women in saris, including a woman in teal and another in a yellow sari, are visible. A bright work light hangs from the tent pole and green backdrop walls frame the space, with more people and banners at the edges.

A seated meal service in a plain hall with pale walls and ventilation grilles. Long dark tables hold banana leaves set with food, steel tumblers and small bowls. A woman in a white sari with orange and red border and a black mangalsutra stands at left, serving from a steel pot. Beside her a long-haired figure in an orange robe leans in to serve, while a man in white shirt and dhoti stands behind. Rows of men in white shirts and dhotis sit along the tables eating, some with raised hands, and another man in a white shirt sits at right. A photograph credit line on the image reads

Outdoor photograph of a crowd at a Karthikai Deepam annadhan meal on a dusty dirt ground beside tall palm trees and a striped tent awning. Men in white shirts and white dhotis, a man in an orange cloth, and a woman in a yellow-and-maroon sari hold steel plates of food. A seated man in a yellow shawl eats from a plate at the lower left, while a man in a checked shirt holds a plate at the right. One man drinks from a water bottle. Several people in the background stand among the crowd.

A large indoor hall with a white tiled floor where many devotees gather for a meal service. Men in white dhotis and white shirts and women in white and yellow saris stand and sit holding leaf plates and small bowls. Some seated women in pink, grey and striped clothing eat from plates, and a young child in a blue shirt sits among them. A decorated pillar with coloured bands and tassels hangs from the ceiling beside draped dark fabric. The scene suggests a communal food offering or annadan.

Outdoor evening food service at a convention, with a volunteer in an orange and red sleeveless garment serving from a steel pot onto a plate held by a man in a light checked shirt. Behind them, a crowd of devotees and volunteers in white and saffron-trimmed clothes watches and waits, including a woman in a red sari and a man in a white shirt. A young woman in white with a long braid holds a ladle. Blue tube lights and a blue tarpaulin roof light the scene, with banners in the background.
