February 08 20122012-02-08A dark stone carving of a serpent coiled around a central form, its scaled body mottled yellow and black, with a hooded head rising at the top. Small yellow marigold-type flowers and a red powder mark are placed on the coils and crown of the stone. Carved ornamental motifs frame the arched stone niche behind it. A stone basin or vessel stands at the right edge, with scattered flower petals and offerings on the ground at the base. No people are visible in the scene. The stone carving has a watermarked archive overlay in the upper right area.2010-12-16A close photo of a dark carved stone deity murti set in a niche, its textured surface marked with red and pink kumkum or sindoor dabs. The figure appears to be an ornately carved face with a broad nose and eyes, though details are soft. No people are visible.2011-01-17A weathered grey stone carving of two intertwined serpents rises inside a shallow rock niche, their scaled bodies coiled around each other with raised hoods at the top. A small oil lamp flame burns on the coiled base, with red-tinted spots on the hood and scattered red petals and a dried orange flower at the foot. Dry reddish roots hang beside it. No people are visible. The image is a photograph of a naga shrine with a deity murti and lamp, consistent with serpent worship.2013-04-27
