Outdoor village scene beside a large old banyan tree with white painted markings on its trunk. In the foreground, a woman in a purple blouse and multicoloured floral sari with blue flowers holds out a small paper slip toward a shaved-headed young man in white dhoti and shawl with a rudraksha mala and a red-and-white striped wrap, who holds a clipboard with a pen and paper. Behind them, a man in a white shirt and a young man in an orange shirt stand near a small white building with a shop front, and a woman in a red sari walks by. Children, including a boy in a striped shirt in the lower left, watch the exchange. A banner is visible on the right near a covered walkway.

A man in a plain white shirt with a rudraksha mala stands at the right, leaning in to the board, while a curly-haired person in white with back to camera holds a small paper and another man in a white shirt bends over the group. Several women wear sarees: one in a red blouse with a long braid, one in a dark maroon top, one in a yellow-green saree with tilak, and one in a black blouse with an orange-red saree and gold bangles, handing over currency notes. A shaved-headed man in a white dhoti and a white sleeveless top, wearing a long rudraksha mala, stands in the foreground with head bowed, surrounded by a dense crowd of mostly men and boys. Behind him a white vehicle with a roof rack is hemmed in by people. A man in white shirt and trousers stands near the centre, a boy in a red shirt is at right, and an older woman in a green sari and a woman holding a small child are near a dark wooden doorway of a whitewashed building. A red-tiled roof, brick wall and hanging laundry form the background. The image is a photograph; the shaved-headed man in white shows no distinctive presentation cues beyond the mala, so identity is uncertain.2012-01-03A village street of plain white and blue houses with thatched roofs and a palm tree at left. An elderly woman with grey hair in a bun, wearing an orange sari with a maroon blouse, stands at center, while a man in a white shirt and white dhoti stands at left, handing items from a steel bowl to people. Several boys stand on the right and center; one in an orange shirt and another in a blue shirt and white vest face the camera, one boy wears a red-and-white cloth over his shoulder, and a boy on a bicycle with a rear carrier stands at lower left. The scene appears to be a distribution of food or offerings to village children.2007-05-31October 20 20062006-10-20Outdoor distribution table at a festival site with a blue-and-white checked tablecloth.
