A night-time photograph of a fire ritual. A large bright fire burns in a brick-lined fire pit at the right, with a small brass or metal bowl of offerings nearby. A seated figure in orange-saffron robes with long dark hair and a rudraksha mala around the neck sits cross-legged close to the fire, hands clasped in front. Another seated person in an orange garment sits at lower left beside a red offering dish and a flower-filled plate. Standing people in white clothes stand in the background behind them, some with hands folded, and a person in a light shirt sits at far right. A small deity murti stands near the fire at right.

A night-time photograph of an outdoor fire ritual. A large open flame rises from a fire pit at right, with offerings in brass bowls and plates of fruit in the foreground. A woman in orange and red garments with a rudraksha-style bead necklace sits cross-legged beside the fire. Several seated figures in white clothing are around the fire, one with his hands together at left. A small decorated altar or chair stands at right, and tents are visible in the background. The scene suggests a homa or yagna with offerings.

A photograph of a homa fire ritual at night. A priest sits on the ground behind a brick-lined fire pit, wearing a white dhoti and a red shawl draped over his shoulder, holding a small metal vessel and a ladle-like implement. The bright flame of the fire burns in the centre of the brick pit, which is decorated with yellow flower petals and scattered offerings. Behind him, a second person in a white garment stands at the right edge, and several seated devotees in white and light clothing sit with folded hands in the background among brass vessels and bricks.

Night photograph of a fire ritual outdoors. A large flame rises from a square fire pit at the centre, with brass vessels, a bowl and offerings on the ground in front. A figure in a red-orange garment sits near the fire, holding a long rod or staff. Around them, several seated devotees in light and white clothing, some in orange shirts, sit on the ground, and a man in a white shirt sits at the right holding a staff. Dark surroundings and a few tall figures at the edge suggest a gathering after dark.

A night-time photograph of a homa fire ritual in an open outdoor setting. A fire burns vigorously in a sunken pit at the centre-right, with brass vessels and bowls of offerings placed around it. A woman in a red and gold sari kneels at the fire, holding a ladle or offering item. Two men sit behind the fire, one wearing an orange shirt and the other a light-coloured shirt. To the right, a framed deity murti stands on a small platform beside a seated man in a white t-shirt. Standing figures in pale clothing stand in the background at the left, and strings of small colourful flags hang above the scene.

A dim temple interior during an evening aarti. A priest in a saffron-orange dhoti and shawl with a red tilak on his forehead holds a lit camphor flame on a plate in front of him. In the foreground a woman in an orange sari with a gold waist ornament and bangles raises her hand toward the flame. Another person in orange stands at the left edge, and a deity shrine with lamps is visible on the right. The priest has a bare, shaved-looking head and does not show distinctive a person cues, so his identity is unsure.
