Night-time photograph of a group of people gathered closely in an indoor or sheltered space. A seated man in an orange-saffron robe and matching orange head covering sits on a low blue stool, with his hands resting on his knees, smiling and looking up. Standing around him are a man in a long white kurta with his back to the camera, several men in shirts behind, and women in saris and salwar kameez, including one in a yellow outfit. A young girl in a yellow top and white skirt stands in front, facing him. The lighting is dim and the setting appears to be an ashram courtyard or similar room.2002-11-04November 04 20022002-11-04November 04 20022002-11-04November 04 20022002-11-04Night photo of a Deepavali celebration with smoke and sparks. A seated figure in orange robes and an orange head wrap, with a sparkler-like firework lit beside him, smiles broadly on a blue plastic chair. A man in a white kurta leans in to help, another man in yellow kurta stands behind, and two women in saris, one in purple and one in cream, hold fireworks and laugh. Burnt sparks and a fallen sandal lie on the ground. The figure is dressed as a sannyasi with a saffron robe, a person by appearance, though the face is partly obscured by smoke.2002-11-04Indoor photo of a smiling young man in saffron-orange robes and a matching orange turban, wearing a long rudraksha mala and a gold pendant, standing with his hands clasped at waist level. Around him are people in white shirts and dhotis, a woman with long dark hair bending forward, a man in a blue shirt beside a camera on a tripod, and a fan and window with bars on the green wall. Several people are partly visible at the edges of the frame.Night photograph of a smiling man in a saffron-orange turban and flowing saffron robes holding a lit sparkler, walking across a concrete floor at a Deepavali celebration. Beside him a girl in a blue patterned kurta and white churidar wears a white hairband and pearl necklace and holds a sparkler. Behind them a man in a blue checked shirt and light trousers holds a small box and smiles, another man in a white shirt stands nearby, and a child in blue is further back. A blue plastic chair sits at right. The man in saffron matches the appearance cues of Swamiji (probable), with his turban and saffron robes, and is an in_person candidate.2002-11-04Outdoor evening photograph at night in a dirt courtyard. A long-haired figure with bare upper body and saffron-orange cloth draped over the lap sits on a flat stone bench, laughing, with bare feet and sandals placed on the ground. Facing them stands a bald man in an orange saffron dhoti and shawl with a red border, smiling, wearing sandals. Behind them a group of men in white dhotis and saffron-orange robes stand and sit watching, several with rudraksha malas; one holds a white flower garland at left and another in the background holds a camera. The lamplit scene feels like an informal gathering.2006-08-21March 16 20032003-03-16A smiling figure in an orange saffron turban with a red bindi and a long orange shawl stands at the centre of a night gathering. Behind them, standing figures in white garments and a woman in a green sari with gold necklaces look on.
