A photograph of a dense crowd of mostly bare-chested men seated at a gathering. In the centre, a close-cropped, bearded man with bare shoulders and a thin white sacred thread across his chest presses his palms together in anjali mudra, eyes lowered in devotion. Around him, others wear white cloth draped over their shoulders and white thread necklaces, and one man on the right wears a green-and-black striped garment. The setting appears to be a satsang or class with a seated congregation; no deity, throne or a person figure is visible in the frame, so no candidate is identified.2017-05-10A photograph of a seated group of devotees in a ritual setting, most bare-chested and marked with white sacred ash stripes across their chests and shoulders, wearing white dhotis and white sacred threads over the shoulder. In the centre, a grey-haired man with a white horizontal tilak on his forehead and a rudraksha-style bead pendant on a white cord sits with his palms pressed together in prayer, gazing to the side. Beside him and behind, other participants in similar white attire sit attentively, one with his hands folded. The people appear to be taking part in an initiation-style ceremony with ritual markings on the body.2017-02-22February 22 20172017-02-22May 20 20162016-05-20June 08 20172017-06-08A dense crowd of men seated closely together, mostly bare-chested and wearing white sacred threads over their shoulders, at an outdoor evening gathering. In the centre, a man with a short beard and a forehead marked with sandal or vibhuti lines holds his palms pressed together in anjali mudra, eyes lifted in devotion. Beside him, an older man wears round spectacles, a red headband and a white moustache, and others around them sit attentively. A red thread is tied on the wrist of the praying man. The setting suggests a satsang or initiation-style gathering, though no deity or stage is clearly visible.2017-05-10May 10 20172017-05-10A photograph of a satsang gathering in a hall with red curtains and rows of red-cushioned chairs in the background. In the centre, a shaved-headed man with white paste marks on his forehead and arms wears a saffron-orange cloth draped over his shoulders, many strands of rudraksha beads around his neck and rudraksha bracelets on his wrists. He stands with palms pressed together in anjali, a devotional gesture. Around him, devotees in white dhotis and collared shirts also stand with hands folded, including a man in white on the right and a boy in a red-patterned shirt behind him. Some attendees on the left wear white dhotis and sacred threads.2013-06-02A close photograph of a bald man with white vertical tilak lines on his forehead and a red dot between the brows, eyes closed and hands pressed together in namaste while chanting. He wears a saffron-orange cloth with a gold border over a bare upper body, and multiple rudraksha malas hang on his chest with a dark pendant cord at his neck. Behind him, several men with white tilak marks and white dhotis sit with their hands folded in prayer. The man in front is not clearly shown as a person, so the identity is uncertain.2013-01-16January 16 20132013-01-16A photograph of a seated congregation at a Mahashivaratri event. In the centre, a white-haired older man with a shaved-looking white crown and a yellow tilak on his forehead sits with palms pressed together in namaskar, wearing a white dhoti with a gold border and a red-and-gold printed shawl over his shoulder, with a rudraksha mala around his neck. Around him, men in white ritual clothes sit closely packed; some are bare-chested with gold chains and rudraksha malas, and a man in the foreground shows a shaved head.
