Photograph of a decorated processional utsava murti pair seated on an ornate copper-toned arched palanquin or ratha canopy. The left figure wears a dark turban-style crown with a green stone, gold jewelled necklaces, a blue dhoti and a red-and-gold sash, with one hand raised in abhaya mudra. The right figure wears a gold crown-finial, a green and red silk sari with gold border and layered jewelled necklaces. Both are carved wooden or metal deity figures, not living people. The seat is draped with a gold brocade cloth and the canopy behind is lined with purple and pink striped silk. Striped red-and-cream cushions frame the seat. Tent ceiling and hanging lanterns are visible above. No physical people are present.2016-12-05A photograph of a decorated ceremonial shrine under a white tent canopy with red roof struts. The statues wear jeweled crowns and necklaces; the male figure has a blue garment and the female a green and red sari-style dress. Orange paper lanterns, a blue hanging bowl and orange foliage decorate the canopy. Partially visible at left is a bare-chested man in orange-striped dhoti with a rudraksha mala. Red carpet covers the floor, and a purple bag sits at lower right.2016-12-05December 05 20162016-12-05December 05 20162016-12-05Photograph of a shrine niche framed by a gilded arch with a red velvet backdrop, showing two deity murtis (statues) seated on a golden throne-like platform.
